About Me
While my undergraduate education focused on both statistics and music (B.Sc in Mathematics and Statistics and B.A. in Piano and Harmony), I later decided to follow my biggest passion and completed my Ph.D. in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University. I am currently an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
My research focuses on quantile regression, dimension reduction, and functional data analysis. I develop theoretical and computational results for performing dimension reduction for conditional quantiles for various types of data. My research has been supported by the National Science Foundation. Teaching is an integral part of my job and I always seek for opportunities to improve. I have completed various teaching certificates through the Center for Teaching and Learning and incorporated active learning techniques on my curriculum. As far as my free time, I enjoy climbing and playing the piano :) |
